I sliced up the first tomato from my garden today for lunch. It was sweet, and juicy and tasted like sunshine. If you’ve only had tomatoes from a grocery and never one still warm from the vine… you don’t know what you’re missing… pure ambrosia.
This season I’ve actually paid attention to my garden. Watering it, keeping the pests away, weeding, even having pep talks with the plants. Aside from the beauty I noshed on today, there are about six more ripening up nicely.
Funny how that works… you pay attention to something, nurture and encourage it, and it thrives. I wonder what else that could apply too… hmmm?
OH, there is NOTHING like fresh veggies. NOTHING LIKE IT. I am hitting up the farmer’s market tomorrow- so stoked!

My Dad always grew the very best tomatoes. That picture is Pavlovian.

Can you send me one? Please? I’ll treat it really well. Er, right before I eat it.

I love home grown tomatoes. Unfortunatly every plant I touch dies. My daughter jokes that she is curious how I kept her alive for so long. There is nothing better than a tomato and basil Mayo sandwich! Yummy!

Mmmm, warm off the vine tomato.
Reminds me of spending weekends at my great-grandparents house, picking fruits and veg straight from their garden and bringing it to the kitchen table.
Such a joy.

Color me jealous! I’m guessing we have another few weeks before we see edible tomatoes in our garden.
You make a good point too. Why is it so hard for us to nurture and encourage other important things in life? Like relationships…
