Chapter Two: moving out

A little over 22 years ago we brought her home. Tomorrow we’ll load her car and her dad’s truck with all her possessions and she’ll move out on her own ~ 652 miles, 11 hours, and four states away.

There is nothing more I can say about that…

  1. This day is still very far off for me, but by the way my daughter is growing, it’ll probably be here too soon. You must be feeling so many different ways about this! I wish you the best through this!

  2. What a jumble of emotions you must be feeling! You’ve done an amazing job. And it’s never really over, as my own mom will tell you. My parents are still the people I talk to most, and I’m sure it will be the same for your family.

  3. Oh my goodness! Such a big move!

Hugs to you! I know my mom had an anxiety attack when I moved 30 minutes away into the town that she worked in, so I can only imagine her reaction if I told her over 600 miles away!

  4. My heart goes out to you, Tara. I’ve been there, and I know just how you feel. It’s an odd mix of emotions, isn’t it? Sadness, loss, pride and a whole bunch of other stuff mixed up together.

I’ll tell you what perhaps no one has yet: they come back.
