Try turning around

There’s a light at each end of this tunnel,
You shout ’cause you’re just as far in as you’ll ever be out
And these mistakes you’ve made, you’ll just make them again
If you’d only try turning around.

~ Anna Nalick, “Breathe.” Wreck of the Day. Sony Music BMG, 2005.

I try to learn from my mistakes. It may mean making the same mistake over and over until I finally figure out the lesson, but, I’m getting better.

Through these sometimes emotionally and physically painful moments, I’ve uttered that oft used clique about seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. My thought being that my trials and tribulations are easing or coming to an end.

I wonder if my real mistake was getting caught in that tunnel in the first place.

  1. I am right there with you/ I always have been a learn things the hard way kinda girl. But, as my dad used to tell a rebellious-teen-me, your mistakes are truly your own and along with your experiences they make you who you become. Advice I embrace, since I make plenty of mistakes!

  2. Ain’t it the truth? It’s like you start down a path and inertia takes over and you couldn’t change the course of things even if you wanted to. I hear you.
