My Running Buddy and I hit the beach this weekend. Our first trip to the Gulf this year. It was glorious. The sun was shining, and the wind was brisk but not freezing. The beach was virtually empty of distracting tourists (except for the family of penguins who insisted in swimming in the 50F water), and we made plans.
Plans for what we would do this spring and summer. We have a road trip planned in a couple of weeks to buy books and a ragdoll kitten. We get very specific with our plans.
There’s a trip to NOLA that will happen, and another one to Gulf Shores, AL for music and seafood.
The Monday after Daylight Saving Time begins, we are commencing our 5:30a.m. walks together, then at the end of May, we’re going to enter a Memorial Day five-mile walk/run.
We want to head south to some Florida State Parks we haven’t visited yet. Hike some trails, ride some air boats through the swamp, and hunt for gators.
Of course, there will also be our weekly treks back to the beach. We’ve made plans to share in the cost of a portable cabana – hot cabana boys not included.
We both decided we need new sun hats. We got new suits at the end of last season. We even discussed that we want to pack in our lunch coolers.
We got a lot accomplished in four hours. Summer is coming, and we’re going to be ready.
Take lots of pics in NOLA so I can see what you are up to

Dang, that sounds good! It seems like the recent good weather has everyone – in all different parts of the country – suffering from Spring Fever. We don’t care what that stupid groundhog said.
