Imagine dragons

One day you will take my heart completely, and make it more fiery than a dragon. Your eyelashes will write on my heart the poem that could never come from the pen of a poet.” ~ Jalal ad-Din Rumi

This week I hiked around Rocky Bayou State Park almost every day. The dragonflies were swarming – tiny, lace-winged dragons of every color – gold, orange, green, black, bronze, and red.

Some were more bold, and would let me get very close, almost posing. Others, I had to sneak up on, and snap photos quickly before they hummed away.

I believe dragonflies are magical…

  1. Your photos evoked memories of my childhood as I often sat enthralled by dragonflies in the fields around our home. Nicely done.

  2. Dragonflies are indeed miraculous, from the huge bulbous headed bodies of the parallel winged dragons to the delicate wings of the damsel flies in their bright colours of blue, green, orange and red. We’d often see huge dragonflies on our walks, and would wonder at their short life span and survival instincts.
