Changeling hex is broken

Jess in time - 33_2

My long, didactic journey is coming to an end. My two-stage Odyssey through the teen years – once with a daughter, and my final phase with a son – is almost done.

I’ve taken on the Herculean task, the Holy Grail pilgrimage toward adulthood with my burgeoning charges. Navigating through minde fields of pubescent angst, I have deciphered the near incomprehensible alien language of youth.

I have faced down a Gorgon more fearsome than Medusa. I have battled a ravenous Minotaur hellbent on devouring everything in his path.

The beasts are tamed, their changeling hexes broken. Our new adventures now begin.

The 100 Word Challenge is to tell a story in only 100 words. This week’s theme is ‘Odyssey’

*In less than one month, my baby, my last born will reach a momentous milestone for us both. His teen years irretrievable, he will crossover into the realm of a neophyte 20-something. Older by four years, his sister is already well into her third decade. Before the end of June, I will no longer have any teenagers.

  1. Bittersweet for sure. Happy for them, happy for yourself yet a bit sad for the end of their “childhood”.

  2. This was perfect timing for me to read this! We walking carefully into those teenage years now! It’s always nice to know you’re not alone in dealing with these years!
