This week has been beautiful… except for the fog. Lots of fog, thick fog, scary movie kinda fog. Around home it’s just been rolling in during the mornings. By lunch time, most of it has burnt off, but closer in to the Gulf, it’s lingering.
I feel badly for the Spring Breakers. It’s not been raining, and it’s not been cold, it’s simply been grey.
Even the condos on the beach are affected. The fog is so low and thick, it obliterates the top couple of floors… very creepy. Once away from the water, even less than a mile, the sun is out and bright.
At the beach there are lots of tourists, but visibility out in the Gulf is nil. Where on a clear day, you really can see forever, this week the mist is crawling long the shore.
The first shot here was taken near my home, around 8 o’clock one morning, the others were shot sometime after 2 in the afternoon near the beach.
It’s hard to tell from this shot, but the fog reaches almost mid-way over the bridge before it opens up into full sunlight. You can barely make out a trio of condos on the right.

And, just so you don’t think it is all grey and gloomy… a little spot of color…

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and/or a Nikon CoolPix S205)

Visiting from Unknown Mami’s Sunday in my City; I know what you mean about the fog; living in Southern California we can be subject to it at times; I too feel sorry for the visitors who come here expecting sunny weather and get lots of clouds and fog. I bet when the fog is clear, the area where you live in gorgeous!! enjoy the week ahead!

Great shots! I’m another fan of ‘especially that first one’ – luckily, if I’m not driving, I find fog exquisite. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for dropping by, so I could do the same.

Wow, Tarasita…Y’all are sorta the East Coast version of San Francisco, huh? I wonder what meteorlogical phenom is causing this occurence? Bad for the Spring-Breakers, but awesome for a Photo Bug like you, huh?

LOL!!! I misread your title as FROG creeping!
Hey – – – don’t feel too badly for the spring breakers if your beaches are WARM they will be quite happy. Besides, they can still get plenty burned through the fog.
