100 Word Challenge: Secret

crocheted pink dogwood blossoms

Putting my yarn organizing project to good use, I began a scarf I hope to finish in time for my mom for Christmas. Knowing how badly I procrastinate sometimes, she will be lucky to get it for Mother’s Day… 2018.

Since I’m showing and telling here, it will be a good chance to test if my mother is creeping on my website. She says she doesn’t know how to find it, and when she brings it up, I try to change the subject. I’ll see how surprised or how good of an actor she is when I’m done.

Much of my yarn surplus comes from this project from a couple of years ago:

So many colors, so much leftovers.

This scarf features dogwood blossoms, a favorite of my mom’s. It is a sort of crazy quilt. Each element is separate… 18 flowers and centers, 30 leaves of brown and green, and 73 filler motifs of different sizes in varying shades of green. Once these are all done, I can piece them together into any pattern I choose. Should be fun… *sarcasm emoji*

The real surprise will be if I can stay on track and get this project done on time.
