Always gets the girl

My “Emotion Thesaurus” lies open beside me on the couch, held in place with my “Dream Dictionary.” There’s no more room for open tabs or windows on my computer desktop.

I’m hip deep in character development, and I can’t decide what to do with my hero. I’m leaning toward changing him to a her, or making him vulnerable in some tragic way. Perhaps an incurable disease would make him a more sympathetic protagonist.

He starts out a loner, having been burned by love too many times. Of course, in the end, he’ll defeat the bad guy and get the girl.

This week’s challenge is inspired by (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman,” by The Kinks

9/31 – Hero

  1. Interesting. Is this fiction, or are you really struggling with a character? If so, I’d like to know the direction you decided to go.

    1. I am always struggling with characters, but for this particular piece, it is all fiction.

  2. … And then die within a few days (assuming you go with the incurable disease path).

    1. Your comment made me laugh. You get it.

  3. I never saw this coming as an interpretation. When Dawn and I talked about this one I was expecting a few different angles, but not this. Thanks for surprising me.

Have you picked, lately? Who cares…pick for Tuesday, please.
