If only there were filling stations for our brains.
Not like a school for “book learning,” but somewhere we can go when we’re only running on fumes. When there’s no fuel to spark an idea. We’re barely chugging along, and there’s no tow truck, no Good Samaritan to give us a push, not even a hill to roll down. Just stranded on the side of the road, without a cell phone signal.
I must have a fuel line leak. Even when I can crank my brain, and move towards the faintest idea, it all goes up in white, noxious smoke.

whenever I hit zombie drain status (where all I hear in my head is uuuuuurrrrrgggggghhhhhhh) I just draw. not really things, as that’s not a skill I’m able to call my own, but just nonsense patterns. then I feel like I at least did something creative outside my own head.

If you find a place, let me know! I teach creative writing to middle school students and this is one of their biggest challenges. We spend a lot of time brainstorming! 🙂

Wonder if something is in the air. I definitely relate to the inability to cast away the fog from my brain.

Nice thought, but the price on the gas pump is in gallons and $1.69 a gallon is a steal. We are paying almost that for a litre. I wonder if that works for brain fill-ups too?

I would love paying only $1.65 a gallon for gasoline or ideas.
