A friend joined me for this week’s photo hike. She had just moved back to town after being away for almost a year. I’ve missed her terribly, and am ecstatic that she’s living close again. We’re making plans to kayak next weekend.
We drove over to Panama City, and I showed her Camp Helen State Park. While walking the nature trails, we saw hundreds of tiny frogs. At one point, it looked like the trail mulch was moving there were so many of them. I made a joke about a plague of frogs and all we needed was the swarm of locust… about that time one buzzed past us.
I may have to rethink my solitary hikes. It was nice to have a companion who I can have a conversation with and who enjoys nature as much as I do.

I just love what you capture.

I love the light and the color in this set of photos. Looks like a beautiful day for a photo hike.
Glad to hear you have a friend to join you on future hikes. Sometimes solitude is nice but having a friend along is more fun.
