I don’t know if the pier was abandoned for the newer, longer, stronger pier on the Gulf, or if this wooden pier was the victim of a killer storm and was never rebuilt. It stands like an old dinosaur, it’s grey and aged bones baking in the harsh Florida sun.

My husband took photos of an old pier last summer. This summer he went back again to try a few more shots. He was saddened to find Hurricane Sandy destroyed it.
