This week’s photo hike is very special… I have a guest photographer. My daughter and I finally got out on the bayou for some kayaking, and I actually left my camera in the car – on purpose!
The day started out fair, but after only 30 minutes on the water, a storm blew in. While it didn’t rain, the thunder and lightning were fierce. We found a sandy landing and waited out the worst of it, counting the seconds between the flashes and rumbles. We never got past “one.”
Once the skies cleared, I spent the rest of the morning drifting along with my daughter, enjoying her company and the scenery. She took all the photos for a change, and graciously shared them with me. With permission, here is our day on the bayou.

I love kayaking! I wasn’t so lucky with the thunderstorm but at least I wasn’t out on the water either! Glad you stayed dry!!

We can rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boards at the state park near us. I go as often as I can. We may try paddle boards next time.
