Clearing a trail

Finally got a chance to explore one of the Florida Trails near Crestview. I spent a leisurely 2 hours tramping through the woods. I think I cleared every spiderweb and tick from along the path. Scared a few skinks and a toad too. I only walked a short portion of the trail, and want to return soon when I can spend more time there.

I also threw in a sunset from earlier in the week. These have been spectacular lately.

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, Nikon CoolPix S205 and/or iPhone4)

I believe all good fiction includes an element of truth, and all good photography includes an element of fantasy. In this journal I hope to give voice to the stories swirling around in my head, and to capture the images I see through my camera’s lens.

  1. Tara – fantastic shots, love the light on the berries, the perfect sunset and that toad is superb. I have tiny “tree frogs” that nestle in various places – in planted pots seems to be a fav, next to the trim by the front door, under the rim of a clay pot I was potting up today. I’ll grab my camera and go looking adn they all disappear 😦

  2. Amazing shots! Especially love the first one and the spiky frond shadows. Nice composition.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I was thinking about you today – we’re cycling in the woods and seashore. Suddenly I remembered your photos…
Do you have blueberries already? Here we have to wait till August!
Great shots again. Have a good week ahead!
