I just needed some time to think. Time away from you, away from everything. You were my life and that life ended when you walked out.
Will you miss me? Will you even notice I’m gone, or even care?
I didn’t let anyone know where I was going, so there’s no telling how long it’ll take before anyone starts looking for me. It’ll be too late then.
You broke my heart and my spirit, leaving me lost, stranded and alone.
A storm is coming soon. I can smell it, feel the electricity in the air. I long for the release.
100 Word Song, a writing challenge from Lance based on a weekly music prompt. Give 100 words, not 99, not 101. This week’s challenge is inspired by The Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Breaking the Girl”.

The flow is so perfect for the moment. My favorite is the second to the last paragraph. It captures her brokeness. I loved it.

I feel like I could have written this. Not as well as you did, but..Wow. This was so gorgeous.

All of it was beautiful, but it was the storm part that brought the tear to my eye.

Who hasn’t ever felt this way and then be able to express in 100 words a myriad of emotions – brilliant!

Oh, how sad and moving and quietly determined in her brokenness. So well done.

Oh lovely. I really enjoy that it is an interior monologue. I know I’ve certainly had these kinds of thoughts in my life (though luckily without the ending that I believe you’re foreshadowing here!). It’s great when a piece really speaks to universal feelings without being trite. Good stuff!
