“Have you given any more thought to joining Grams and me at the tent meeting this week? It’d mean so much to her.”
“ Ma, you know how I feel about revivals. All the threats of hellfire and damnation are just too much. It’s too confusing. Faith is very straightforward and simple.”
“That fancy, schmancy community college of yours is putting all sorts of heathen thoughts into your head.”
“I think I’m old enough to make my own decisions about my beliefs, and what’s best for me.”
“So, Miss Know-It-All what religion have you picked? Buddhism, Hinduism? What?”
“Perfectionism.”
The 100 Word Challenge, a writing prompt created by Velvet Verbosity, takes a single theme to tell a story in only 100 words ~ no more, no less. This week’s theme is ‘Perfectionism.’
I like It, especially the fancy schmancy community college. As for perfectionism, well, as hard as I try to move to a new religion, I’m still there!

I had to snicker at this one…. hits awfully close to home, and yet so very off base, too! Loved it – thank you!

Oh, this is outstanding! So many of us belong to that denomination and don’t even realize it.

never thought of it as a church…though really it could be. Interesting perspective.

Like Melisa I must confess to being a perfectionist as well… in some things anyway. I’m slowly turning away from that ‘church’, though. which is definitely good!!
