As much as I once loved him, now I can’t stand the sarcastic tone of his voice. Gawd, how I hate that man! His smug, condescending arrogance grates on my very last nerve. He treats me more like one of his vapid office subordinates than his wife of 40 years.
“You’ve outdone yourself, a delicious meal,” rare compliments from him, free of insulting qualifiers.
Little did he suspect his kabobs were courtesy of some poor, dumb creature who was tragically too slow crossing the highway. Mine were lamb.
Smiling into my wine glass, “thank you dear, it’s a new recipe.”
The 100 Word Challenge, a writing prompt created by Velvet Verbosity, takes a single theme to tell a story in only 100 words ~ no more, no less. This week’s theme is ‘Compliments.’
HAHAHAHA! Remind me not to get on your bad side…
