Morning walks

This past week, while out on one of my daily walks, I stepped in a pothole and fell like a Giant Redwood. Twisted an ankle, but managed to not bust my arse. Hurt like a mofo the rest of the day, but with ice and taking is easy, I was up and about the next day.

By day two, I tried a short walk. It was going well, only a few twinges… but… about half a mile out and it started raining, hard. It wasn’t supposed to rain. In the long run, it was a good thing. It kept me from pushing too hard and ending back off my feet.

Needless to say, I didn’t get in a photo hike this week. This set, taken exclusively with my Nikon CoolPix while on my walks, includes images I captured within two miles from my home.

(The added bonus to all this walking the past 2.5 weeks, I’m down more than six pounds.)

It just jumped up and grabbed my ankle, I swear

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and/or a Nikon CoolPix S205)

  1. Pretty and relaxing 🙂 I’m sorry to hear that you fell but am glad you weren’t too injured. I, too, took a digger (last night, fell on some ice) and am hitting the ice pretty hard tonight. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we are both just feeling our ages and will be givin’ ‘r in no time 🙂
