Graffiti Wisdom: Breaking down walls

“There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.”

~ Ronald Reagan

There are some walls I need to break down in the coming year. Walls built of fear ~ fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of not being quite good enough.

I am never going to know what is beyond those walls until I try. I will never know what I am capable of achieving until I try, but I have to face my fears and at least make the attempt.

The most daunting barrier for me is believing in myself. As it stands right now, if I don’t do anything, don’t try to achieve some of my dreams, I won’t be any worse off than I am right now. If I do make the effort to bring those dreams to fruition, the possibilities are endless. I really have nothing to lose.

It’s time to take down those walls…

  1. Do you remember the movie, Defending Your Life? I’ve kind of lived my life by that motto, that conquering fear is everything. Of course, nothing is ever fully conquered, but it’s a worthy quest, I think (even if it does mean that we do fall every now and again).
