Every little bit helps

November 23, 2018 ~ Tara R. ~ Leave a comment

You guys! Today during physical therapy, I was able to ride a stationary bike for ten minutes, making full, forward rotations the whole time. I logged about 1.75 miles. That’s huge. Well, right now, every improvement is huge. It’s still slow going, but I’m seeing little changes in my range of motion that are encouraging. … Continue reading Every little bit helps

I want to ride my bi-cyc-le

November 20, 2018November 20, 2018 ~ Tara R. ~ 3 Comments

This rehab stuff is making me stabby. It’s like two steps forward and one step back. Sunday was great. Went for a walk, got a bend in the knee to a point I hadn’t reached before, and I was walking pretty steady. Then, Monday came and I was all wonky again. Could barely get my … Continue reading I want to ride my bi-cyc-le

Just walkin’

November 18, 2018 ~ Tara R. ~ Leave a comment

You guys! I went for a walk today. A walk that was farther than my mailbox and involved being outside for more than two minutes. Granted, it was probably less than a half mile, but it was more than I’ve done in months. Even before the surgery it was difficult to go very far. This … Continue reading Just walkin’

Cuddle of love

November 17, 2018July 21, 2019 ~ Tara R. ~ 1 Comment

I laid down to ice my knee and my Misfit Toys, our rescue furkinder, joined me for a comforting Group Hug. I … Continue reading Cuddle of love

One person’s story

November 16, 2018 ~ Tara R. ~ 3 Comments

Today was the day I said my fancy words during physical therapy. I said it under by breath, only said one word, but it needed to be said because that shit hurt. My self-censure was in deference to the nice older gentleman on the table beside me. He is recovering from a repeat hip replacement. … Continue reading One person’s story

100 Word Challenge: Strong

November 14, 2018November 19, 2018 ~ Tara R. ~ Leave a comment

Survived my first out-patient physical therapy session on Tuesday. I want in with trepidation, but as I’m wont to do, my worry was for nothing. I came out a little sore but encouraged. The therapist said I was doing well and that he didn’t think I’d have any trouble getting back full range of motion … Continue reading 100 Word Challenge: Strong
