“Seriously,” Esmé nodded, transposing their exchange into a Facebook status. “She could catch the movie on Netflix.”
“I heard printing all that paper was bad for the environment too,” Soleil agreed without looking up.
Despite the appearance of being engrossed in her reading, Maisie eavesdropped on the girls’ conversation and felt pity for them. They would never understand her obsession with the magic of reading.
