Polaris glimmers overhead
It casts its light across our path
We expect obstacles, perilous travels
Our fate decided before our birth
We are powerless to alter our course
Or so we believe
Our heartbeat skips, we quell our fears
A foot off our mapped-out passage
Deeper through the forest
We trudge forward, resolve wavers
Doubt says stop, volte-face
Free will is disallowed
To go backward, the easiest choice
Ahead is obscured by shadow, mystery
Ahead is also joy, peace, wisdom
A solitary step, the bravest purpose
Forge a solitary road
To a purpose filled life
lived without regret

I loved the poem and very much approve of the sentiment! LM x
