Ebb and flow

sunset at beach pavilion

Some evenings when I am gifted with a brilliant end to my day, I can almost hear the sun sinking into the ocean with a muted hiss, or perhaps more of an ‘ahhhh…’ Like slipping into a warm tub, to soak away worries and stress.

Alone on the beach, sharing the spectacle with only the sea birds, I often just sit and watch. Marveling at the play of light on the horizon, the swirl of colors ebbing and flowing like the waves on the sand.

I let the events of the day wash over me and out to sea. Feeling the pull of the sun, telling me to let it all go, if only for that single moment.
