October, the harbinger of fall, is more than half over. Fall foliage has reached and maybe passed its peak colors. Bold reds and oranges, bright yellow and purples – the different hues rival any rainbow.
Yet… here in Florida, where temps are still summer-ish, and the majority of our trees stay green year-round, we have our own flavor of autumn colors.
Like everything else down south, even fall is laid-back. There are no flaming hues of crimson and gold, we have muted shades of mauve and spicy pumpkin. We have butternut squash browns, lemon yellows, and seashell whites.
Don’t just be jealous of our beautiful, sunny fall weather, envy our easy-going fall colors too.
