Grounded

I went to ground for my photo hike this week, and tried to get a different perspective on a familiar walking trail. Even though Florida doesn’t go through the typical fall foliage changes, there is still early evidence of autumn’s pending arrival, with magnolias dropping their red berries and pines shedding cones.

While I’m usually alone when traipsing around this park, a fellow hiker intent on power walking loops around the trails, kept passing me. I can only guess what she thought when she’d turn a corner and found me on my knees, or belly, taking pictures of spent seed pods, and flowers.

  9. The fourth picture is my favorite! Your pictures almost make me miss Florida! I lived there my whole life until I moved to Ohio 3 years ago. I have to say though, I adore watching the seasons change up here, there’s almost something magical about it!
