During the first months of my life, I swam in the warm ocean of my mother’s womb. Adrift on gentle waves, I breathed in her briny abundance, and was soothed to sleep by her tender lullaby. Salt pulsed through my veins, creating an undeniable bond with the sea.
Hours from the end of my life, I wade into the balmy water. Standing with my toes curled in the soft sand, I inhale the salty air, savoring its spicy tang on my tongue.
Breaking waves sing the final verse of my cradle song, soothing my weary soul and welcoming me home.

Quite lovely. Beautiful photograph too!

I like the feel of this. Plus, how you used inhaled was great craft.

how intimately and wonderfully gorgeous these words are. I love the ocean, just as I suspect you do. It calls me home and comforts my soul. From our first breath to our last, it is good to have a place that beckons us.
so , so lovely.
