Burrowed into an overstuffed, leather chair in his office, Ricky swirled the ice in his rocks glass, fascinated by the thick legs on his whiskey. Watching the amber liquid slide down the sides of his drink, he was transfixed.
Throwing back the last of the fiery liquor, Ricky reached for the nearby bottle. On close inspection, he realized he drank the entire fifth. In frustration, he threw the offending glass, breaking it on the hearth, and sending alcohol-fueled sparks up the chimney.
It was totally her fault. All she had to do was forgive him, like she always did.
Of course he was completely blameless. Denial isn’t a pretty thing!
