Longleaf Pines

Whenever I drive through Santa Rosa Beach, along scenic Highway 30A, I pass a sign, “for trail parking.” Until today, I thought that was for the bike trail that runs parallel to the highway. My daughter and I are planning a day-long bike ride soon, so I decided to check out the site.

To my surprise, it wasn’t for bikers, it was for hikers. I found a new trail! I need to put together some sort of guide. Some of the trails I’ve hiked are designated state park trails, some are listed on national greenway trails and others, are local parks.  This one, Longleaf Pine Greenway Trail, is an eight-mile linear trail. I didn’t hike the entire length, but did get in over three miles.

Next time, I’ll take my furkids with me. It’s pet-friendly and an easy hike.
