Dog days are over

School started last week, and the local ball fields are now barren of summer league games. They seem so lonely without all the children playing and parents yelling.

It didn’t rain for a change this weekend, but there were still huge puddles and soggy grass. I tried to capture the abandoned feel of one of our city parks. It was kinda sad, but fall sports will be gearing up soon and the sound of squealing kids will fill the air once again.

  1. the park that’s a few hundred yards from our street has Fall Ball Leagues. Goose is playing softball in one of them. All of the rain we’ve had make for great greenery and beautiful ballfield shots.

and I love that Florence & The Machine song

    1. Baseball and softball are over, but soccer starts up soon. It’s a fall sport here. While I was out at the park, I could see the soccer pitch lines were already painted on the fields, and the goals were out.
