This is beautiful (even with the mothball hugs) 😀 Very nicely done.

Great story.
‘Mothball-scented hugs’ – reminds me of an old Aunt. Obviously moths were a greater threat in my youth than they are today!

I like how this includes more than one sense. The ears with the phrase, the nose with the mothballs scent, the mouth with the tea, and the eyes with the lovely veranda imagery.
Thanks for linking up!

I’ve gotten a few ‘bless your hearts’ in my lifetime, though maybe not in that exact phrasing. No one ever offered me tea though ): haha this is really good!

Amazing writing. I love how you’ve engaged touch, taste, smell, and sound in those few sentences. Excellent!

Great job – I tried to go for more of the hyphenated words but one was all i could muster 😉 I really like this though, makes me want a hug AND some sweet tea… mmmsweettea

I love the word “addled”. It sounds like its meaning.
And nice words for the prompt!

Sweet. I’d like to do just that. Sit on that veranda. I know I would feel better. I like this a lot!
