When others see you, you seem like this bear of a man. They mistake your ambling ways, thinking your mind is as slow as your stroll. They don’t take the time to get to know you, to understand how truly brilliant you are.
How funny, and smart, and kind you are. Quiet, but resilient. Shy, but quick to smile. They can’t understand what a tender heart you have, how loyal you are to your family and friends.
Your outer strength hides the fragile child still inside. I only wish they knew you like I do, they would love you too.

The 100 Word Challenge, a writing prompt created by Velvet Verbosity, takes a single theme to tell a story in only 100 words ~ no more, no less. This week’s theme is ‘Fragile.’
This is really touching.

What a lovely portrait. I love the contrasts of someone who is almost or already an adult who puts on one face to the world but saves the other for you, his Mom.
