Shades of grey

The choice in politics isn’t usually between black and white. It’s between two horrible shades of gray.

~ Lord Thorneycroft

The more I watch news reports about the GOP presidential candidates, and the more I think about the current administration and what has been done, and not done, over the last three years, the more I feel that the choices open to me are really picking between the lesser of all evils.

I’m underwhelmed by the slate of candidates being paraded around by the Republican Party, but I’m more concerned by the thought of having another four years with this Democrat administration.

Yet, no matter which candidate I eventually support, I remain disgusted by the partisan media coverage, and level of disrespect and vilification shown to all of those in the political spotlight. Is it truly necessary to tear other people down to lift yourself up?

  1. After 40 years of faithful voting, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only thing that will save our country is Term Limits. Specifically, one term for a President, one term for a Senator, and two terms for a Congressman.

Then maybe office holders (regardless of party) will be more interested in the good of the country than keeping Their Job

  2. Apparently it is. The whole bunch of them seem to have forgotten that they are supposed to represent the country, not their own vested interests, big corporations, lobbyists or the top 1%. Politics are really rather disgusting these days.

Years ago, I had a “Miss Piggy for President” bumper sticker on my car. I wonder if I still have that…
