I have been participating in the Indie Ink Writing Challenge for several months, and was thrilled that the powers that be have now offered up the Indie Ink Photo Battle. Like I need an excuse to take pictures…
Constructive critiques are welcome, but please play nice.
This photo was taken at the Reflecting Pool at Eden Gardens State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

I’ve included a few of favorite shots from my Flickr photostream that also highlight the prompt theme.

For the IndieInk Photo Battle this week, Mary Terrani challenged me with “Reflection” and I challenged Flood Gondekowa with “Shadow.”
I like it – so very cool and peaceful. I actually thought it was a painting at first as I started to scroll down to where the photo was. Gorgeous! What lens did you use to take it?

I think pictures like that play a part in eradicating negative feelings.

yeah, I agree with the other critiques. The flower is the star and accentuating it’s effect would be what I would focus on.

I love the photo! While I’m not a photographer, I agree with Lou – crop it and slightly move it closer to the center.

I love taking reflection shots. It’s wonderful how chance led to these photos.

Wow – I love all the shots! In photo #4 – is that a cat in the reflection? They are all very well done! In the midst of a photo challenge (photography by the alphabet – http://www.anitamacphotos.wordpress.com) but will look into the next challenge in a month. Don’t think I am in the same league as your first picture – just love it!

In that photo, the cat is inside, looking out the window. In the full shot, you can see the reflection of one of my Labs playing outside. I liked the juxtaposition of to two images.

I love all of these shots – but if it was me, I’d have cropped that first photo so the flower was just a teeny, tiny bit closer to the center – not much – just a petal width or two.
That said, it IS a lovely shot – and better than anything I’ve shot in a long time.

Yes, I can see where that would be better. I was also trying to include as much of the lily pads as possible, but moving the focal point more to the center would be a nicer shot.
