Country wedding

I attended my niece’s wedding this weekend. It was a simple and sweet ceremony uniting two young people who were so obviously smitten with each other. The bride wore white, and pale blue Keds painted with fireflies. She carried a bouquet of yellow paper flowers with coordinating button buds. The groom wore a black tux with a Nehru collar. His boutonnière matched his bride’s bouquet.

The ceremony was held in an outdoor amphitheater in the Tennessee hills surrounded by family and friends, with a blaze of fall foliage as decoration. It was perfect.

  1. I love weddings where the bride and groom make the day uniquely theirs. It sounds like your niece and her new husband did that, and then some. Fantastic bouquet!

  2. Tara – That birdbath picture is such a work of art! And it’s wonderful to hear of your neice starting her “new life” with a sense of humor and creativity – that’s the way to do it.
