This week’s photos were taken at Grayton Beach State Park around the dune lakes. These lakes are rare in that they exist only in a small handful of locations around the world. They are unique in that they sustain both salt and fresh water environs.
I need to find a better way to hike in sand. My trail shoes fill up quickly and there’s nothing good to say about having your socks full of grit.

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and/or a Nikon CoolPix S205)

The pink flowers are GORGEOUS. One of my favorites you’ve done! 🙂

Thanks for getting sand in your shoes, these pics are amazing, ALL of them.
What is that flower in a flower flower? I love it and I want one!
Tara R.: I have it on good authority that it is most likely some sort of milkweed.

I really liked the first {just something about it}; and those pink star flowers, I’ve never seen anything like that before.

Amazing shots again!
I’ve started walking too. Nordic walk with sticks. It’s hard and very good for butt, upper body. You have to push the sticks – it’s like cross-country skiing without skis! 🙂
Have a great week ahead!
