Black lace and shadows
Stain glass wings, emerald jewels
Onyx eyes piercingFloating on the breeze
Silhouettes rice paper thin
A song without wordsMusic barely heard
Whirlpools in the wind, fairies
Make a wish, believe

I absolutely love this Haiku. That said, you gave me pause until I realized that you hail from a place where English pronunciation is markedly different than what I was raised to.
I’m going to guess that you say ’emerald jewels’ like this – ’em’rald jew-uls’. Or, possibly, em-er-ald jools. It’s one or the other. *I* say it ’em-er-ald jew-uls’ so *I* give it one too many syllables. See how wrong we are in the North?

Ha! I do pronounce it ‘jools.’ You’d think raised in the south I’d add syllables, not leave them out.
