Saturday I took advantage of living in the only one of the 50 states without snow (a statistic I find dubious), the almost spring-like temps (60s… in January!) and the clear blue skies to again make my way to the beach.
I went to Navarre where last summer the BP oil spill first made landfall in this area. I was happy to see the water and the beaches have made a remarkable, and seemingly full recovery. The sand was littered, not with oily debris, but shells in beautiful shades of pink, cream and orange.
The fishing pier was open and I walked out to the end, admiring how gorgeous the Gulf waters were. Sitting on one of the many benches, I soaked in the sun, the salt air and the gentle sound of the waves breaking on the beach.
It was a lovely day.

Beautiful shots. It felt nice to experience some sun and warmth through your photos. There’s a big absence of both up here.

Gorgeous series! That sand dollar is incredible!
By the way, every time they’d report Florida as the only state without snow, you were always the first person I’d think of… wondering what warm photos we’d get today. Beautiful!
