Her arms and legs were leaden with fatigue, weary from the mundane muck sucking at her feet. It was like treading molasses. If she stopped inching forward, she would drown in her ennui.
Life around her was zooming passed at the speed of light but her body refused to catch up, a never-ending nightmare carousel. Her head was dizzy with scattered thoughts and her pounding heart threatened to burst out of her chest, the inner struggle twisting her apart.
She just wanted everything to slow down, to let her body and brain find a happy medium. Maybe enjoy the view.
