“I don’t want to keep fighting you.”
“That’s hard to believe after that conniption you just had.”
“You don’t even know these people.”
“I’ve known some of them for 10 years. I’ve seen them get married, have kids, have grandkids. Don’t tell me I don’t know them.”
“You’ve never actually met them in person.”
“I have a better sense of who they are than some of my ‘real life’ friends, and they know me that well too.”
“I still don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“You don’t have to. I’m going on my Imaginary Internet Friends tour, and that’s final.”

I love this, especially when the internet friends share more than you would in person. Safety in that I think.

I think you’re right, I know I feel freer to share some things with online friends than with my IRL friends.

I’ve met five of my Internet friends in person (including my brother-from-another-mother, Lou) and liked them all very much. And you are right. There are some among my Internet friends that I feel I know better than many people in my “real” life.

I have also had the immense pleasure of meeting Lou. Awesome guy. There are several of my online friends that I got a chance to meet, and so many more I want to see in person…. you included.
