These kites are huge, big enough for someone to sail behind. For a person my weight, kiteboarding in 15 knot winds (17mph), the sails would need too be about 12m². (For scale, a king-size flat sheet is only about 4m².) They are very popular in our Gulf Coast waters. I’ve not been brave enough to try it, but it looks like fun.
Thin spiral notebook 
We made a kite for ten pence out of a bin liner, a bamboo cane and some paper bows. It flew like a dream! We’ve seen the kite surfers at Weston Super Mare, and it is fascinating to watch them.
