Fly like an eagle

Animals play an significant part in Celtic mythology. The raven is often seen as harbingers of war and death. In Irish folklore, Warrior Goddess Morrighan would take the shape of a raven, and mete out who would be triumphant on the field of battle, and who would be carried off on his shield.

Eagles, associated with elves, are messengers. Considered powerful allies, they are portrayed as being sentient and extremely intelligent.

This is all important to me because this symbolism plays a critical role in a story I’m writing for NaNoWriMo this month… well, I hope it works out that way. I never know where these forays into novel writing may take me.
