Except for the highway sunset, each of my 365 photos this week were taken at home. The lamp post shot could be titled “Oh crap! It’s almost midnight and I’ve not taken a photo today.” Even with the last minute nature of it, I like how it turned out.
The highway shot was taken as my son and I waited on the side of I-10 near Pensacola for his friends to show up to help him with his ‘new to him’ car. On the drive home from buying it, it overheated. Oh, the joys of car ownership.

the wineglass made me want to write a romantic story, I just loved the image and the shot…and the purple sneaks made me smile, like a childhood candy, (bottle caps or skittles) , they are the color of fun. 🙂

Isn’t that usually what happens? Buy a car, it breaks down, of course, as you are driving it home from its previous owner’s house…sigh. Love the purple tennies!

My evil sib went through a LOT of cars. Which didn’t make my parents put their feet down about buying them .At that point, she was gainfully employed at Arby’s AND McDonald’s (yeah, sure, she was only working part time. At each restaurant.) So she could pay for her cars and drugs (and that was all she bought.) Anyway, she once bought this old (not classic, just old) yellow convertible. It needed a new engine block. It needed a new radiator. It needed a different owner. She stole Dad’s truck because hers wasn’t working, leaving Dad and I with the cool (if sucky) car to head for the movies. Predictably, it overheated halfway there. Dad decided (brilliant man) that since it had STARTED overheating at a gas station, if he could just pick up speed, he could make it STOP overheating by getting some air flowing over the engine. Um. Sure Dad. Ten seconds into this experiment, we had to drive into a handy field because the engine billowed smoke in our faces. Then we had to walk an extra mile BACK to the stoplight to get the water for the radiator.
