This is probably the first time I have not gone on a dedicated weekend photo hike in… I actually don’t remember the last time. I’ve been on the Disabled List for a few weeks with a bum foot, but it didn’t stop my hikes, only slowed me down.
I finally gave in and started physical therapy first of the week and it was going really well, until Thursday. I overdid and the pain migrated up from my foot – which feels almost back to normal – into my calf and the back of my knee. By Saturday, I literally couldn’t walk without a serious limp, and an ugly “OMG! That friggin’ hurts’ grimace.
Ice, a heating pad and knee wrap have been my constant companions.
So…
This weekend’s pix are from a road trip to Foley, AL and Pensacola, the menfolk and I took to look at new project cars for our son. He sold his first car last week and is eager to get a new one. Fortunately for us, the ‘rents, and unfortunately for him, the trip was unsuccessful. He still has that little kid ‘instant gratification’ need, while we are encouraging him to look at LOTS of cars before making a decision, and not getting the first one he sees.
We took back roads and just enjoyed the scenery. And, I could just snap away from the passenger seat of the car.
If you follow me on Instagram (@tara_r), you will have already seen these… sorry about the repeats.

Hope you’ll get better soon! Great shots, I haven’t seen these before.
Car business is hard. Too many choices and you never know if the one you buy really works…more than one week 🙂

Hi there!
So sorry about your foot. What beautiful photos! Have you ever put them up on any of the “get paid” (istockphoto.com) or promo (sxc.hu) sites?
Just wondering because the article writing venue I freelance with only allows article writers to use photos with their articles (with credit of course) from those sites. (Wikimedia is an option for us too, but only when there’s no “share-alike” restrictions).
I can’t afford the paid photo site just yet, so I mostly use sxc.hu, when I can find one to fit my article. I’m still looking for a ballroom dancing pic to add to one article that’s already published, but no luck with sxc.hu so far.

I know EXACTLY what you’re saying regarding the instant gratification thing w/ cars. It’s why J is trying to sell the car he just bought three months ago: it has too many problems. He will lose about 25% of what he paid for it (because he’s had to drop the price several times and still has no bites!). So frustrating.
Hope your foot recovers quickly now that you’re doing therapy!
