Spent some time around train tracks this weekend near Mossy Head, FL. There is something very appealing to me about rust and iron.

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, Nikon CoolPix S205 and/or iPhone4)

Oh Tara – that Emerson comment – you’re not an amateur. Perhaps sometime in the distant past you were, but you are truly accomplished and always pushing yourself to explore more. There is always beauty here.

I like these pictures. Used to have a fetish for the railway tracks a few years ago, and never tired of taking pictures – seemed to show something new every time.
Lovely Tara!

Very nice pictures. Almost reminded me of living in Southwestern PA.

Oh, me too! There’s something so cool about rusty metal. Also, exploring old train tracks. My grandfather was a breakman for a steam engine that ran from Hungary into Austria. My grandmother’s train pass, with a picture of her as a child, is one of my greatest possessions.

The rust and iron make a great photo opportunity. I lived most of my life on the Gulf Coast, where there were plenty of opportunities for rust and metal to make fascinating mixtures.
