I grew up in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. This time of year – early October – the foliage in the Smokies is glorious. Red, orange, gold, and burgundy, the color spectrum is truly stunning. The very air seems to change to a richer shade of blue.
Aside from the mountains (the highest point in Florida is an ear-popping 345 feet above sea level), it’s that change in the foliage that I miss the most.
Very few trees in the region of the Sunshine State where I live actually have fall colors. The pine trees and broad-leaved evergreens like magnolias are sorta boring in the fall. There are ways to distinguish the seasons in Florida, there are subtle color changes.
Fall is still my favorite season, and the colors of autumn the most beautiful

Okay. Every time I saw another shot I thought “Oh, that’s my favorite…” Then I’d see the NEXT one! Love them all. The acorns and the tree bark are my two favorites. Wonderful fall series!
