Notus’ hoof beats thunder across the horizon, churning the surf. Rolling waves crash upon the shore. The very earth shakes at the power unleashed from the heavens.
Fire descends, rending the black velvet veil of night. Embers rain down, boiling the seas as hissing steam rises from the emerald waters. The storm wails and shrieks, riding the winds, calling out in despair and anger.
Diving into the deep, escaping the cataclysm from above, creatures flee the wrath of the gods. Seeking safe haven among the beds of kelp, and soft mother-of-pearl sand, while overhead all hell breaks loose.

The 100 Word Challenge, a writing prompt created by Velvet Verbosity, takes a single theme to tell a story in only 100 words ~ no more, no less. This week’s theme is ‘Storm.’
It is a real testament to the writing that I was able to enjoy it because the picture just kept drawing me deeper into it.

I agree with Heather…the photo is like…Satans rath or Hell-on-Earth…in a good way! In a really really good way! If there was any photo I want to jump into, it would be this one. It’s overwhelming… :O 😀 WOW
And then onto the writing…you have captured descriptive writing then throttled it- and redefined it!! I am blown away by this piece- your imagination must be one hell of a place!! 🙂 again- WOW!!
