Why did the chicken
Cross the road and pitch a tent
For free waffle fries
* Haiku Friday is hosted by Lou at LouCeeL.
This week a refugee camp set up along side the parking lot of a newly hatched Chick-fil-a restaurant in town. Rumor was that when the restaurant officially opened for business, the first 100 customers would be rewarded with free Chick-fil-a for a year. Tents and other camping gear filled the grassy areas surrounding the building early the day before its opening.
We don’t have Chick-Fil-A here, so it’s hard for me to imagine wanting to camp out for waffle fries! Maybe if they come with seasoned sour cream, like at Champps… However, I have seen such camps set up in these parts in anticipation of the latest video game system.

Love the haiku. My kids definitely would’ve camped out for free chick-fil-a!

Ha, your haiku was hilarious. The lengths some people go for free stuff though … umm fast food … oh my …

Was the rumor true? Chik-Fil-A is good, but not good enough to be in a tent in the summer

The way I understand it, the first 100 get 52 coupons for free combo meals. I do like CfA, but not enough to campout or to eat it every week for a year.

That’s so funny…. we don’t have that fast food chain in Minnesota but I can totally see the lines forming if we were to get one. I’m not sure they’d camp out, the weather here can be ruthless… LOL

Wow. Didn’t think Niceville had that in them, or maybe they’re from DeFuniak? 😉
I’m glad it’s there now, but I still miss Hamburger Dave’s.

When she found out about Wal-Mart AND Chick-fil-a opening here, my daughter declared this ‘the best summer ever.’ I agree though, Hamburger Dave’s was awesome and is sorely missed.

We are just beginning to see Chick-fil-A restaurants here in the Chicagoland area. Is that a good thing?

If you ask my kids, it’s an awesome thing.

Oh my. By the look of the tents, these folks can afford to buy their own Chick-fil-A.
