Happy Mother's Day to all you moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, daughters, step-moms and surrogate moms. May your day be filled with adoration, pampering and gratitude... relax, enjoy and bask in the love of your families. “In search of my mother's garden, I found my own.” ~ Alice Walker *photos taken at Camp Helen State Park, … Continue reading My mother’s garden

Grayton Beach

April 24, 2011January 9, 2015 ~ Tara R. ~ 18 Comments

This week's photos were taken at Grayton Beach State Park around the dune lakes. These lakes are rare in that they exist only in a small handful of locations around the world. They are unique in that they sustain both salt and fresh water environs. I need to find a better way to hike in … Continue reading Grayton Beach

Bubble gum and albino squirrels

April 17, 2011January 6, 2015 ~ Tara R. ~ 23 Comments

I … Continue reading Bubble gum and albino squirrels

Old Black Water keep on rollin’…

April 2, 2011January 8, 2015 ~ Tara R. ~ 28 Comments

It has finally reached warm enough temps, that I was able to don SHORTS on my weekend photo hike. I felt all Spring-ish. This week, I headed to Blackwater River State Park near Holt, FL. The water, while not actually black, is a very dark copper, thanks to the tannin from hardwoods growing along the … Continue reading Old Black Water keep on rollin’…

Morning walks

March 26, 2011January 6, 2015 ~ Tara R. ~ 27 Comments

This past week, while out on one of my daily walks, I stepped in a pothole and fell like a Giant Redwood. Twisted an ankle, but managed to not bust my arse. Hurt like a mofo the rest of the day, but with ice and taking is easy, I was up and about the next … Continue reading Morning walks
