100 Word Challenge: Spot

Perhaps it’s a sign of advancing age, but when I found a little extra money in my budget this month I didn’t opt for new spring clothes or a new purse, no I was more practical.

I bought a spot rug cleaner, and I am ][ this close to being giddy about shampooing my carpet.

Who am I kidding… I’m literally giddy and have been attacking stains and blotches throughout my house with Christmas morning excitement.

I actually woke up on Wednesday and without even changing out of my pjs began work on my bedroom hallway.

(While living in my current home, I’ve had several dogs with incontinent problems and cats who refuse to puke on tile. No matter how quickly I try to clean those mishaps, there always seems to be a stain that lingers.)

This cleaning compulsion is beginning to worry me, but I won’t delve into its implications until I’ve finished cleaning… all the spots.

“Out, damn’d spot! Out, I say!” Lady Macbeth

This week’s word is:

Spot

  1. I took a close look and noticed I wasn’t the same person anymore
A spot on the mirror made me reflect on the image I used to see staring back at me
A young girl lost in confusion looking for answers in a world of transgressions
I spotted something familiar a desire to want greater
It was a spot of arrogance that made me hunger for greater
My lack of knowledge awakened my spirit to spot ignorance and ignore it going forward
In search of understanding
Now I know the feeling of connecting the dots
One spot at a time
