When he suggested we make our own bread, I thought he wanted to eat less processed food. I got a dough machine, stocked up on whole wheat flour, and yeast, even researched ways to cultivate sourdough starter.
The first time I presented him with a fresh loaf, still warm from the oven, he looked at me like I was completely nuts. Little did I know he really meant for us to print bogus money.
Once I was over the initial shock, I started to warm to the idea.
I won’t just bring home the bacon, I’ll be cooking it too.

Clever play on words – and the plan. But hey, he got a good loaf of sourdough bread out of the misunderstanding!

Agreed! It always smells divine too – both during its making and while baking.
